Media Lab is a new, attractive and comfortable creative space in our Library, created by Future Library in the fall of 2013, with exclusive funding from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

The creation of the Media Lab, a donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, completely transformed and breathed new life into the Municipal Library of Chania. It is an ideal «hangout» for teenagers, schoolchildren, students, young professionals, the unemployed and all Library users, offering quality services that emphasize the development and expression of creativity:

• Co-working spaces (Co-working Lounge)
• Reading
• Relaxation (Brain Pulse Room)
• Internet browsing (PC Room)
• Recording studios (music studios)

compose a completely different version of the modern library, which was envisioned and implemented by Future Library, through Media Labs.

The use of Media Lab equipment and services is free for everyone. Media Lab users are required to return the equipment they use in the same condition as they received it and to leave the space clean and tidy.
Please note that for security reasons, the Media Lab space is monitored by closed-circuit television.
