The Chania Municipal Library participated in the 28th Panhellenic Conference of Academic Libraries, held in Corfu on October 19–21, 2022.

With the theme “Green & Sustainable Academic Libraries in the post-COVID Era”, the conference was organized by the Library and Information Center of the Ionian University, marking the return to in-person events after two years of online conferences.

The Chania Municipal Library was represented by its Head, Ms. Vivi Choudalaki, along with librarians Ms. Areti Karveli and Ms. Chrysi Antonakaki, expressing their great satisfaction at being physically present after the two previous years of remote participation.

This conference has become an established institution for the academic library community, but also a significant event for librarians across all types of libraries in Greece. As Ms. Choudalaki noted, it is “a valuable opportunity for scientific exchange, professional networking, the pursuit of new collaborations, and the renewal of long-standing contacts.” She also expressed her gratitude to the Municipal Authority “for supporting and promoting the lifelong learning of our staff, giving us the opportunity to participate in such an inspiring conference.”
